What a puppy program usually includes
- A daily schedule for meals, potty breaks, play and naps so the household stays sane.
- Name response and a happy recall, taught indoors first.
- Gentle handling of paws, ears and mouth for future grooming and vet visits.
- A plan for chewing, mouthing and jumping up.
- Homework that fits into five-minute sessions, because puppies tire quickly.

Good questions
Before you begin.
How old should a puppy be to begin?
Most trainers are happy to start once the puppy is settled at home. Ask your veterinarian which vaccines should be done before outings in shared spaces.
How many lessons are in a typical package?
Packages often run three to six lessons, spaced a week or so apart. Ask for the count and the cost in writing.
Can lessons happen at my home?
Many trainers teach at the client's home, and some add a travel fee. Always ask before booking.
Do I need to buy special gear?
Usually a flat collar or harness, a six-foot leash, a crate and small soft treats. A good trainer explains every tool they ask you to use.
